Sella Park is an historic building with character features making free access to all and to all areas something of a challenge. However, we have ensured accessibility to the best of our ability through the public areas and we do have ground floor bedrooms, one with an equipped bathroom, available in the Sella Grange Annexe.
Level access to the ground floor Copeland Room for wheelchair users and baby buggies is via ramps at the front door and to Reception, toilets and dining areas via the Conservatory entrance at the opposite end of the building. There is a washroom equipped for the disabled in the public area of the hotel.
We welcome all visitors including those with restricted mobility and other disabilities and will do our best to assist. It is helpful if customers let us know when they book of any special requirements they might have.
Closest mainline railway station - Seascale on the Cumbrian Coast line (5.5 miles, ca 11 minutes by car).
Buses are few in the area. At the present time, nearby Calderbridge (ca 1 mile away) is served by Stagecoach route 30.
There is a local taxi service and also an accessible taxi/transport service. With prior notice, we can make a booking for you.

Car Parking Facilities
The hotel car park is at the side of the property and is laid to tarmac. There is level pedestrian access back around the main entrance at the front of the building or round the building to the right side to the Conservatory entrance. Customers with limited mobility are welcome to drop bags or passengers at the front door before driving round the back to park. There are a few designated spaces by the main entrance.
There are signed accessible toilets on the ground floor of the hotel, close to Reception.
All public rooms are carpeted.
From the hotel main entrance, there is level access to the Copeland Room on the left. A short flight of steps leads down to Reception, which is adjacent to the bar and Conservatory. Customers wishing to visit Reception and avoid all steps should enter the building by the Conservatory entrance and cross the Conservatory to Reception. The Priory Dining Room and the toilets are all on this lower level.
The hotel main entrance has a larger than standard door. The Conservatory door is standard width and opens outwards.
Level access is available to the rest of the ground floor from main entrance and Copeland Room by exiting the main door and turning left and left again to re-enter the building via the Conservatory.
The function marquee is reached by a covered tarmac walkway with level access throughout. For functions this surface may be carpeted.
Our dining areas comprise flexible furniture with tables of standard height and central pedestals. Dining chairs are without arms and can be moved to accommodate wheelchairs. There is ample space to manouevre wheeled and powered chairs in both Priory and Conservatory dining areas.
We can assist guests with luggage.
Normal check in time is 3.00pm. However, earlier check in may be available with prior notice.
Our Reception Office is usually open 24 hours. If closed however, contact information or a contact number for a member of staff onsite will be left on the Reception desk which is 100cm high.
The bedrooms in the main building are all upstairs and there is no lift. Some rooms in addition have steps within them (mezzanine-style).
We have a few ground floor rooms with level access available in the Sella Grange Annexe which is adjacent to the main building. One of these has a bathroom equipped for those with restricted mobility. Please specify when booking if you require one of these bedrooms.
Assistance dogs are very welcome at Sella Park and may go into all areas except the kitchens.
All indoor areas are no smoking.
